TakeStand

Community Guidelines

TakeStand is a platform for spirited debate — including views you strongly disagree with. Disagreement is not against the rules. The lines below are.

Zero tolerance

  • Threats or incitement of violence against any person or group.
  • Doxxing — sharing someone's private address, workplace, phone, or ID.
  • Hate speech — dehumanizing content targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or immigration status.
  • Sexual content or nudity. TakeStand is not an adult platform.
  • Any content involving minors in a sexual or exploitative context. We report suspected CSAM to NCMEC and preserve evidence for law enforcement.

Not allowed

  • Targeted harassment or coordinated pile-ons.
  • Impersonating another person or organization.
  • Spam, scams, or fraudulent tip solicitation.
  • Manipulating Sparks, tips, or the reporting system.

Reporting

Every debate, chat message, and profile has a report button. Report threats, hate, sexual content, and spam — not opinions you disagree with. Reports are triaged by our moderation team; repeat offenders are suspended or banned.

Host & moderator responsibilities

  • Hosts control who speaks in their room and can appoint up to 20 moderators.
  • Moderators can mute or block chat users; hosts can lock chat entirely.
  • Hosts are responsible for the tone of their room. Rooms that repeatedly violate these guidelines will be ended and the host penalized.

Enforcement

We may remove content, temporarily suspend, permanently ban, and — where required — refer to law enforcement. Suspended users may submit a written appeal from the in-app suspension screen.
