Host Payout Terms

These terms cover how hosts convert Sparks received from tips into real money.

The split

Tips pass through in full: 100% of the Sparks a tipper sends land in the recipient's wallet. No fee is deducted at tip time.
TakeStand's 30% platform fee is taken when Sparks are purchased, not when they are tipped.
Because of this, the creator payout rate is $0.14 per Spark — the 70% share of the $0.20 purchase price. Sparks are bought at $0.20 and redeemed by creators at $0.14.
Example: a tipper buys 5 Sparks for $1.00 and tips all 5. The creator's wallet shows 5 Sparks and cashes out at $0.70; TakeStand retains $0.30.
Purchased Sparks are never redeemable for cash by the purchaser — only qualifying Sparks received as tips by eligible creators are payable.

Minimum & requests

Minimum withdrawal: 50 Sparks ($7.00 at the $0.14 payout rate).
Choose a rail: Debit/Credit card, Bank (ACH), PayPal, or Stripe Connect.
Requests are reviewed and typically paid within 3–5 business days. Fraud, chargeback, or safety reviews can extend that.

Taxes and 1099s

You are an independent creator, not a TakeStand employee. You are responsible for your own income tax. If you earn above the reporting threshold in a calendar year, Stripe Connect (not TakeStand) issues the 1099-K directly to you. Keep your Stripe account info accurate.

Refunds & clawbacks

Tips are final, but if a tipping purchase is reversed for fraud or a valid chargeback dispute, TakeStand may claw back the corresponding Sparks from the host's wallet — including from a pending withdrawal — before it clears.

Account holds

Payouts can be paused while we investigate reports, appeals, or suspected fraud. Suspended or banned accounts forfeit pending payout.

Prohibited

Do not solicit tips for sexual content, off-platform activity, or anything that violates the Community Guidelines. Doing so voids payout eligibility.
